Welcome Message

From President of Hong Kong Society for Vascular Surgery

Vascular Surgery has evolved into an exciting new Specialty in Surgery.  This was followed by the establishment of the Hong Kong Society for Vascular Surgery (HKSVS) last year.  In 2023 we welcome the first major local scientific conference supported by the Pok Oi Board of Directors Visiting Professorship Programme, focusing on Endovascular Surgery.

Thanks to the relentless organization of Dr KK Wong and his team in the New Territories West Cluster, and the participation of Vascular Surgeons from the other training centers in Hong Kong, with logistic support provided by the HKSVS and industry, this meeting will be a three-day event showcasing the latest developments and challenges in Vascular Surgery. Through a combination of in-person and virtual talks, live-case transmissions, and recorded surgeries, we have a great opportunity to share our experiences and learn from experts from China, Asia, and the rest of the world. The rich program is testament to the rapid evolution of the skills, technology, and knowledge in our field, and we are sure this will be attractive to all medical professionals and students alike.

I look forward to seeing you in this major event in Vascular Surgery in Hong Kong.

Welcome Message

From Chairman and Programme Director,
Pok Oi Hospital Board of Directors Visiting Professorship Programme 2023

Welcome to the Pok Oi Hospital Board of Directors Visiting Professorship Programme (POH BOD VP) 2023!

The POH BOD VP was set up in 2016. It supports annual scientific program to enhance the advanced knowledge and skills of medical staff.

We are happy to have the event co-organised by Hong Kong Society for Vascular Surgery (HKSVS), Vascular Surgery Division of Queen Mary Hospital, the University of Hong Kong and the Vascular Surgery Team of Pok Oi Hospital, Department of Surgery of Hong Kong New Territories West Cluster.

This year the theme will be endovascular surgery, a young and flourishing subspecialty in vascular surgery. The meeting will provide a platform for sharing experiences through lectures and live operations by over 40 world-class experts from different countries. We aim to provide learning opportunities on latest knowledge, advance technologies and skills about various aortic, peripheral arterial and venous diseases.

The meeting will be in hybrid format with a face-to-face venue in the Auditorium of Pok Oi Hospital and a virtual webinar runs live together with the physical component. We are expecting over 300 physical attendees and 1000 virtual audience.

The programme organisers and faculties would like to meet you soon in the coming POH BOD VP 2023.
